One of advantages of Si probe is Customization flexibility of:

- Number, size, and location of electrode site,

- Material of electrode site,

- Length and thickness of Probe, and

Tohoku-MicroTec provides Si probe users with custom design and manufacturing service by use of its own fabrication line. Based on your probe's specialty and complexity, we offer two types of service as below;

(Customization of Si Brain Probe)

- Probe shaft length: up to 100 mm

- Shank Number: 1 - 12

- Site Spacing: 20um -

- Site Diameter: 15 um -

- Site material: Au/Pt/Ir

- Site number: up to 128 channels

- Site layout: Any type available (laminar, tetrode, poly, etc)

- Site location: Front side or Bilateral sides

- Package type: Acute/Chronic

 

1) Standard Service

- Custom Design and manufacturing for only you,

- 2"/4"/(6") inch wafer available,

- Flexible lot configuration: 1 wafer - 12 wafers selectable

- 2 months since Mask-making to Fab-out

- More than 5 samples (depends on probe size, length and shape complexity)

- Price: TBD (depends on project specialty and complexity)

One customer dominates full masks and full wafers. This service is useful for many shanks, long length, special thickness or shape, etc.

 

2) Shuttle Service

- Mutltiple customers share space of masks and wafers,

- 2"/4"/(6") inch wafer available,

- Lot configuration: 6 wafers

- 3 months since Mask-making to Fab-out

- Sheducle and Price: TBD (Please contact us.)

- More than 5 samples

Because Si Probe has a wide variety of number of shanks, length, size, etc., the shuttle service does not specify a fixed space for one customer. Some customers may use over 50% of mask space and others may use less than 30% or 20%. We arrange and allocate each customer's space every time based on each customer's design and requirement. Price is flexible and the larger space is the higher price.
